It’s a wrap!
The final day on the shoot began with a pick-up schedule where we captured any missing pieces of the film, including an interview with Young Carers worker Liz and the final Key Moments shoot and recordings with Ciara Leeming.
Once the Pizzas had been dealt with the group then settled to review the Key Moments for the film and listened to some of the audio tracks which Dan Spleen had been capturing during the week. The poetry in particular was very powerful and the quality of the recording made the words seem even more striking.
Finally the group headed out on location once more to get the final shots to finish the film.
The Caring lifecycle was shot with the YCR crew chilling and reflecting on the grass.
Then a final shot was set up with each person holding up a sheet of paper with a number to represent the amount of years they have had their caring responsibility.
With the filming now complete we look forward to the post production stage. Once the footage has been cut and prepared it will be presented back to the group in order to make editorial decisions whilst learning some basic editing skills.
Its difficult to put into words the admiration and pride we feel for the young people who are driving Young Carers Revolution forward. Their commitment and enthusiasm at every stage of the project has been an inspiration to see and has transferred directly into the quality of creative outputs we have seen from the campaign so far.
Well done! You are and will be the Young Carers Revolution!
