Creating an Identity Session 1 - The Brief

The group looked at examples of famous and effective logos, brands and identities. They focussed on how to convey identity as a group of individuals, how to reflect movement and how to promote ideals. They looked at logo 'devices', statements & challenges and what the offer may be to a consumer.

They collected their ideas together on paper and attempted to present some themed ideas in the form of a brief for the designer at Snowglobe Creative.

Here are the themes and ideas:

:: The Flower
The Flower represents, growth, nurture, care, maturity and talent.

:: The Flag
The flag is a symbol of a movement. Other themes could be incorporated in the flag design.

:: The Clock
The clock is a twisting mass of all the elements of a young carers life; Family, Money, Education, Friends, Caring, Chocies etc. The figures are holding the weight of the clock on their shoulders.

:: Power / Energy Ball

The power ball represents movement, influence and vibrancy of the Young Carers Revolution. The essence of power or movement could be applied to other devices.

:: Juggler
The juggling figure is loosely based on a human form. The figure is wrapped in a young carers revolution banner and is juggling a family photo, a phone, a clock and other icons

It was discussed that young carers cover a diverse variety of young people who are all individual and unique in their identity and their caring situations.

Straplines:

"Our world, our choice!"

“You can help”

“Make the world a better place”

“Flying the flag for young carers”

“Have you got the time?”

Colours:

Warm, Strong and friendly.

The brief has now been sent to Snowglobe to respond to. Watch this space!!!
