The YCR crew arrived in style at the awards ceremony! Its only right! As the evening drew on the tension and excitement was mounting and then finally the announcement was made... 'Young Carers Revolution - Best Community Project - York Community Pride Awards 2010'. Many thanks to Joseph Rowntree Foundation for presenting and sponsoring the award. You can all be proud! Well done to all at York Carers Centre and well done to YCR!
The Young Carers Revolution crew present their campaign to Dr Maggie Atkinson, Children's Commissioner for England. In her speech following the screening Maggie Atkinson praised the young people and stated that she would use her power and influence to make sure the right people in Government would see the film.
Following the presentation of their film and poetry, the members of the Revolution receive a standing ovation from the audience, including; The Childrens Commissioner for England, The Head of Children's Services and the Deputy Directors and The Elected Member for Children & Young People amongst others.
